Mobile Integrated Healthcare

About MIH

In March 2021, North State launched an innovative Mobile Integrated Healthcare initiative after partnering with Medically Home and UNC Health. Our team of Rapid Response Paramedics (RRPs) provide “Hospital-At-Home” care to patients in UNC Health’s Advanced Care at Home program.

The Medically Home “Hospital at Home” program has helped alleviate the capacity of hospital systems’ EDs across the country. The burden that was put on health systems, as a result of COVID19, was a catalyst to this amazing initiative.

After months of training and implementation, the program went live on August 30th, 2021. As of November 2021, our RRP team consists of nine NC-Certified Paramedics, and we now service UNC-Chapel Hill, UNC-Rex, and UNC-Hillsborough. On average, our Rapid Response Team carries out 300 in-home clinical services per month, and we expect this number to grow indefinitely.
